OPEN SOURCE ARMENIA is the first-of-its-kind project in the country aimed at developing cutting edge technologies through endorsing advantages of Open Source. It is supported by a pool of international private, public and academic institutions and run by the Union of IT Enterprises.

Overview

The OSA initiative supports various Open Source  Software (OSS) projects. These projects are managed and implemented by computer professionals  and computer science students from Armenia, the US and EU.

Currently, a large number of projects are developed by Open Source Armenia, including creation of electronic marketplace based on open source products, document management systems, web content management systems, etc.

OSA has already localized Open Office, Mozilla Firefox browser and Thunderbird E_mail client into Armenian.
